About Me:

I use photography as a means of self expression and a way of visually exploring the world around me while documenting both urban and rural environments in a constant state of change. My camera is a constant companion, and is never apart from me; even in seemingly familiar and dull environments there are unique images to be had. I feel that raising the camera to my eye and viewing the world as it is recorded helps me internalize moments that I would in no other way remember, and better yet, gives me the ability to share the moments with others while keeping a permanent record of a fleeting slice of time.

I strongly believe in becoming one with the environment I am photographing, not picking at it with a zoom lens and autofocus. The rush of manually focusing on a face coming at me in a group of people, or a subject alone in a dimly lit environment and the rapid framing of the image help me to internalize these moments…

Additionally, you may notice that some of my images are slightly out of focus. While regrettable, there are sometimes sacrifices that need be made in order to capture a moment as it occurs.
