Ferry Ride.

Had to take a ferry to go get my car from the shipping company that brought it from California. Grabbed this shot on the way back into Vineyard Haven from the back deck of the ferry.

MV Country Fair.

Went to the Martha's Vineyard fair tonight... Amazingly refreshing shooting in the way I really love to: moving quickly through people that are also moving and impulsively clicking away just to see how the stuff will look when I get home, and this was the first time I've used the 50mm F1.1 in this way. Even at 2500 ISO (max on the M9) I couldn't seem to stop-down even slightly without losing my crucial shutter speed. Overall though, even with grain like this I like the moments I captured, and since these wouldn't be printed huge I don't mind a little bit of roughness if it means the moment was captured... Actually, pulled delta 3200 would probably be just as bad, so I'm going to use that as my standard and call these OK.

An image I captured before our movie started tonight in Oak Bluffs MA. It's a relatively straight out of camera jpg, as I find the in camera noise reduction in b&w mode is more film-like at high ISO values than doing it in post (I usually shoot raw).

Farm Institute: Abstract

So I shot a bunch of adorable animal photos that I'll upload later. I was trying to take a photo a little more unusual than many I've seen of the farm institute; this is what I came up with.

Cranberry Bog.

While driving around today we came upon a place called Cranberry Bog. There was a great abandoned structure there, and I took the opportunity to shoot it from a few different angles:

Finally to the Vineyard!

Just arrived in Marthas Vineyard yesterday. I've already begun snapping pics, and this place is just so photogenic it's hard not to see images popping out at you!

It sure isn't always sunny in Philadelphia.

For the last 4 days I was stuck in an airport Marriot hotel in Philadelphia. I didn't leave the room once for all four days (except the 1 night I spent in the emergency room), and was extremely ill... I had to cancel my photographic trip/internship/assignment in Europe due to the delay caused by the illness, and just in general felt terrible... towards the end almost like Jack Nicholson in the shining.
